Anyone who knows anything about me knows how much I love Asheville. It is not just a place to live for me – Asheville has a Spirit being that I feel known and seen and loved by. There is a consciousness here that is very familiar to me, no matter if I am in the city or on a trail. I love that the trees here look like clouds and that people smile at you for no reason… that we have chocolate shops and local ice-cream and bakeries for dogs nestled in between unique restaurants that feature fresh, local, organic fare. There is never not something going on in the city – often many things at once; art strolls and craft fairs, music venues, street musicians, drumming circles that rock downtown with rhythm – trolley tours, bicycling bars and LAZOOM which, well – you have to experience to believe. Asheville is a city where anyone can come and be and do anything their hearts desire – and SUCCEED. Known as a Center of Wellness throughout the country – as well as Beer City, THE mountain bike capital of the entire Southeast and one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet… and to THINK, I am fortunate to call it home. I do not think it is simply partial enthusiasm when I say Asheville is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. And not just in its endless mountain vistas, crystal clear rivers, streams and waterfalls and 4 eclectic seasons that speak to the natural abundance and wisdom of the Earth – it is in her essence, her heart and the frequency of her Soul. This coming August will begin my 20th year as a LOCAL and LOVING it resident of Asheville – and I still feel like I am on vacation; meaning, everything is still fresh and inspiring, filled with wonder and the excitement of experiencing something for the first time. Asheville is a place that constantly renews itself – and you can’t help but feel open-ended possibilities and a sense of potential at any given time, in any place – there is just something about the ancient wisdom of these rich, majestic mountains. Moving here was not only one of the smartest things I have ever done, it was also the single greatest act of Self Love I have known. Asheville has been the gift that keeps on giving for me – there is something here that truly loves, teaches, balances and restores. I am grateful for the me I have become because of this little spot of Earth that is home to me: Asheville, North Carolina.
